WHAT WE DO

We offer diagnostic and treatment interventions for infants and children with a wide range of feeding, swallowing, and lactation difficulties. Our goal is to provide interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment with an individualized focus to optimize and generalize therapeutic gains into the home setting through caregiver training.

Childhood feeding and swallowing difficulties can stem from a wide variety of causes, with all of them potentially leading to increased anxiety and stress in the home setting, making mealtimes often a battle ground. Given that feeding is one of the most complex processes, we use a collaborative approach in order to provide optimal therapeutic outcomes.

WHO WE TREAT

Our integrated approach allows us to observe, evaluate, and treat your child’s feeding and/or swallowing difficulties. We focus intensively on oral-motor skill development while also supporting nutritional status to promote the most positive therapeutic outcome. This is achieved by implementing empirically validated methods and carefully tracking your child’s progress. The team develops an individualized treatment plan for each child and treatment changes are made based on your child’s progress.

WHERE WE ARE LOCATED

All services are home-based and provided in the child's natural environment using the child's familiar utensils and food items available in their home. Parents and caregivers are empowered to implement treatment strategies used during sessions to facilitate carryover in the home. We provide services throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties in South Florida.

FEEDING THERAPY CAN ASSIST WITH THE FOLLOWING DIFFICULTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Total food refusal
• Oral aversion
• Feeding tube dependence
• Volume, food, and liquid intolerance
• Challenges transitioning to age appropriate textures, consistencies, or utensils
• Recurrent vomiting
• Restricted eating patterns
